Gooseberry Falls

This is our last post about our vacation up to Lutsen. Then we will be more caught up.

Our last two stops on our trip were Gooseberry Falls and the Silver Creek Cliff.

We had lots of fun hiking all over the falls and taking pictures. Matt is so good at setting up the camera for the timer pictures.

The falls were beautiful and as you can see I once again had fun with the color settings on the camera.

After we left Goseberry Falls, we made one more short stop at the Silver Creek Cliff. It is where they built a tunnel through the cliff for the road. We got to walk up a path around the cliff where the old road used to be, enjoy the view of Lake Superior and take a few more pictures. Matt really had to run to make it up the rocks after he set the timer.

Superior Hiking Trail

On Monday Matt and I went hiking on the Oberg Loop which is part of the Superior Hiking Trail. The loop went 2.25 miles around Oberg "mountain" (which is really just a very big hill).

Here we are hiking up the trail. The woods were beautiful and we had a great breeze so the temperature was great and no bugs.

We stopped at an overlook of the valley on our way up. Matt was very patient while I played with all the color settings on the camera.

Then we got to an outlook over Lake Superior,so we stopped to rest. The clouds moving over the lake were beautiful.

On the last side of the loop we looked out over a small lake.

After the Oberg loop, we decided to hike just a half mile in on the Leveaux Loop so that we could see what the campsites on the Superior Hiking Trail looked like.
