Last Weekend

Matt found a boat lift on Craigs List for $200! It just needed a little work.

So last week Matt spent as afternoon sanding it and then last weekend he, his dad, and our friend Joel spent an afternoon painting it. It is much improved.

Then we went fishing for our supper. It was amazing, just about every cast we caught a fish. Lots of crappies and a few bluegills and sunnies.

Happy Birthday Lexis - Our Fence Is In

So our fence went in just in time for Lexis's birthday. What a present! If that wasn't enough, Nana got her some peanut butter flavored puppy ice cream. She was a good girl and shared with Rocky. They both loved it very much.

Here is what the front of our fence looks like facing the road. It is 6 ft of tounge in groove cedar. We love the curb appeal and privacy.

Here are two pictures of Rocky and Lexis enjoying their new freedom in the yard. Of course they only look like this after they are done running around the yard like crazy for a while, but it is hard to get pictures of them when they move so fast. You can sort of see what the other three sides of our fence look like with the black chain link and the wooden posts.

Adventures at the Doggy Park

Lexis sits with such great posture.

Rocky loves running in this open 28 acre fenced area.

Its hard to get the two of them together since they are always so excited to slow down.

Lexis is super tired and just needed to take one of her many naps throughout the day.

Rocky couldn't even make it into our bedroom he was so tired. (Don't you love how he lays with his back legs like that.) haha

Fishing Opener!!!

We had a warm opener this year... 48 degrees! haha
Amanda was wearing everything she could to stay warm.
I don't know if we were smiling or if the strong wind today made our teeth clench together.

No fishing trip is complete without a picture of my Dad and I fishing side by side.

So sad but true... Dad caught a sunny, I caught a Dogfish and a crappie, and Amanda caught a Book!
We only stayed out for a couple of hours. Temperature went down 25 degrees from yesterday. Not good for fishing.

Landscaping Part 2, Plus our New Car!

Amanda just loves working on the yard...I'm glad she enjoys it.

II think the Red Rock looks amazing in this area. Guess how many bags of it we had to use...
Give up?

11 Bags of Red Rock; however, we need more for other places throughout the front of the house.

2007 Saturn Vue
We got rid of my beautiful Ford Heritage F-150, for a better fit for our needs. The dogs have plenty of room in the far back and you never know when we will start trying to fill that middle seat. Its has 40k less miles than my truck and four years newer. The third day we had it I was already pulling shrubs out using a chain. What a nice Family Vehicle.

Landscaping plans are coming in full force!

Wow! What a progress were making! We wanted to start over, so we pulled shrubs out and replanted. All perennials so we don't have to dig them out during our Warm Winters that we have here in Minnesota. HAHA!! :)

Amanda is showing off her Vanna White impression with her new Perennials! What a cutie eh?

These are going to look so beautiful when they get bigger. Hope that you can come see them in person soon. How do you like the Red Rock? We will have it up by the mailbox as well after we lay the landscaping fabric down. Doesn't look that nice with the blue siding but hopefully that will change soon too!
